We partner with community and cultural agencies to access funding that supports our initiatives, from cultural events to outreach and education. These grants help us strengthen our impact and expand opportunities for Nigerians in Calgary.
We are currently working with the Ethnocultural grant where the objective is to provide support to immigrants in their efforts to enter or progress in the Canadian workforce or start businesses. Training are provided for black new immigrants in various areas, including Heavy Equipment Operations, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Plumbing & Pipefitting, Data Analytics, and Welding.

Our youth initiatives encourage learning, creativity, and leadership. Through mentorship, cultural education, and fun events, we help young Nigerians embrace their identity and grow with confidence.
We celebrate and support our elders through programs that keep them engaged, active, and connected. From wellness activities to social events, we ensure our seniors remain a valued part of the NCAC family.
Designed to help newcomers feel at home, our newcomer programs offer guidance, community connections, and resources to ease the transition into life in Calgary.

Held each October, our Gala marks Nigeria’s National Day while also celebrating the Nigerian heritage month in Alberta with elegance and pride. The evening features cultural performances, community awards, and fundraising efforts that support NCAC’s programs throughout the year.

Our annual golf fundraiser combines sport, networking, and community spirit. Members, friends, and sponsors come together for a day of friendly competition to raise funds that support other charitable organizations, like or most recent one, the African Cancer Support Group and previous ones like the Alberta Children Hospital Foundation, Women’s Shelter etc.
Every year, we honor Nigeria’s Independence Day by raising the Nigerian flag at Calgary City Hall. This symbolic event brings together members, dignitaries, and friends of Nigeria to celebrate unity, freedom, and our shared heritage.
As part of Calgary’s iconic Stampede celebrations, NCAC hosts a lively brunch that blends western flair with Nigerian hospitality. It’s a chance to enjoy great food, music, and conversation while celebrating our place in Calgary’s vibrant cultural mosaic.
